APPLE-SAMSUNG JUDGE SAYS COMPANIES MUST NARROW LAWSUIT
Apple Inc. and Samsung Electronics Co. must narrow their patent-infringement lawsuit case scheduled for trial in 2014, a judge ruled. Judge Lucy H. The lawsuit covers technology in newer smartphones, including Samsung’s Galaxy S III and Apple’s iPhone 5.

A petition asking the White House to rescind a government ruling restricting consumers from unlocking their cell phones crossed the 100,000-signature threshold. NYPD FORMS DEDICATED TEAM TO CATCH THIEVES WHO STEAL CELL PHONES
Theft of mobile devices in New York is so rampant that a team of cops has been assigned to work with tech giants to recover stolen gadgets. NYPD uses the International Mobile Station Equipment Identity (IMEI) numbers to track stolen devices, sometimes recovering them internationally. One stolen iPad was even traced to the Dominican Republic and retrieved with the help of an NYPD intelligence officer stationed there.
